JDO Collaborative Learning
2016-17 is our first year of a three year collaborative learning project between our P5,6,7 classes and pupils in Mead Elementary School in Mead, Colorado. The project is funded in excess of £10,000 by the American JDO Foundation founded by Irish American, Judy Coon and aims “to provide an enriched educational experience for classrooms by providing state of the art technologies, and the professional training to the educators managing these technologies.” The support being offered to our school includes:
- 1:1 tablet devices for the use of our pupils involved in the project.
- Staff Development training for our teachers leading the project in our school and optional online training for our whole teaching staff.
- Mobile device management for the tablets funded by the project including software applications and device tracking.
This year, two classes in our school will be involved in the JDO project led by Miss Gillian Millar and Mr Keith Wysner. Our staff will be working with our pupils on a weekly basis on the project, communicating with the students and staff of Mead Elementary by email, video conferencing and file exchange.
We hope to use this page to share news and showcase the work of our little learners and their partners in Colorado so please do come back on a regular basis and see what has been happening.
