P1 and P2 learnt about the Titanic this week. We made first, second and third class tickets so we could board the ship. Once aboard we re-enacted the story of the Titanic. In Numeracy we researched, then measured out the size of the Titanic using the trundle wheel - it was huge, P2 had to count to 269! We did a big wall display and found out lots of facts about the Titanic. We made our own paper boats and tested to see if these would float - and they did!! We made and tested our own boats, made from junk materials to find out whose boat could hold the most marbles - well done Kaitlyn, her boat held 156 marbles! What a brilliant design. We even thought about how the Titanic sank and tested lots of objects to find out if they would float or sink. We have had a very busy but great, fun week!!
